during SXSW, my friend Matthew was at one of their shows.

He came in the next day and said "You have got to hear this band. It is straight up rock and roll like we haven't heard in a LONG time."

So I sat down with the headphones on and immediately purchased everything they'd ever recorded. Great goddamn stuff, seriously great.

The Donnas opened for the Hives. I thought I would like them, I didn't. F*kin' cheerleader for a lead singer made me feel like I was at a high school pep rally.
